So here we are, middle of July, and so far this year I have lost almost bang on three stone! Whilst that is an amazing amount, I still have a long way to go. I went to a theme park with my family for a few days, and I hate the photos of me from the rides. I was just starting to feel less terrible about my weight, but that has given me a big kick.
I lost the three stone by doing Cambridge Weight Plan (now being rebranded as the one to one diet) on and off. I’ve barely stuck to it 100% for more than about a week at a time and so I’ve realised that long term, this approach isn’t going to work for me.
I’ve always been a very all or nothing person, and so I know that going back to Slimming World is what is best for me. I’ve done it before, and I know it works, but I need to focus.
Here’s some of my favourite things about Slimming World which will hopefully help you to see that it might be the right choice for you as well!
- There are loads of foods that you can have unlimited amounts of! These include potatoes and pasta (with a few exceptions)! Honestly that first week when you’ve been eating your favourite foods and you’ve lost weight is mind blowing! I still don’t know how it works – I just know that it does! Ideally you should fill up mainly on “speed” foods which include mainly vegetables but the amount of choice is mind blowing!
- Nothing is banned! Whilst a food may not be free, you can still have it in moderation. Over and above your free foods you have a certain amount of “syns” per day, which can be used on whatever you like, from alcohol, chocolate or creamy sauces! Members are given access to resources (printed or online) with some of the most common syns values for foods.
- You can spend as much or as little on food as you like! If batch cooking and meal planning is your thing, you can be super frugal – (and there are plenty of resources online about how to do this such as these great post over at My Money Cotttage and I Beat Debt) but if convenience is your factor and your budget is a little less strict then you can buy Slimming World ready meals from Iceland.
I glad I found your blog and will be starting group again this week. Like you I know the plan works and have lost a great amount of weight before.
However now will be losing the baby weight.
